Great video @MarshallLee . Has anyone tried submitting to thier 'anthology comic? Is it any good? I was thinking about checking out that and Cyko-Ko.

@Rocketship Evan they have two Anthology comics. But yeah I was planning on submitting to it at some point. It came out on a Wednesday comes out every month and it's great! I love it! I haven't read cyko KO yet even though I have it. But I've heard good things!

Alright @everyone so like I said I was going to just be in the chat for a small amount of time but I talked to @ficklebeast_ A little about my idea and now I’m going to float it over to all of you. Once again I’m inspired by all of you and Wut this community has become this past year and I thought of a new challenge for us in the Discord to all participate in if we would like to. A sort of friendly competition that may or may not end up in some kind of prize at the end of 2020. So this is the idea Let me know what you think! 1. Let’s have a friendly competition to see who can make THE MOST comics in 2020. One level will count how many completed stories and the other will count how many finished comic pages. 2. I’d love your input on what we could do for a prize or prizes for first second and third place winners. @ficklebeast_ Suggested we could all pitch in for some thing Which I thought was a good idea! my first thought was maybe some kind of original art prize would be cool too! I’d love your input on all of this. And how we can run it all together and the prizes and the rules and everything LOL Now this is kind of a tight timeline to get this started but basically the competition starts tomorrow but we will probably have to take a few days or couple weeks to figure out the details of how it’s going to work. Again this is meant to be a friendly competition for fun so let’s not Get too legalistic on the details. If by the end of 2020 we’ve all made more comics than we would have without the competition then I feel like we all win you know what I mean

So yeah let me know what you think and have a great New Year’s!!!

As far as a reward- maybe the top 5 creators can be highlighted somehow? Maybe each could get interviewed on marshals channel, or other channels? It would be dope to do an anthology for the tops, but man, would boil down to a lot of work for whoever is willing to edit it.

Had a great discussion with @FogBreakerStudios and @Empyrean Vole this morning and It helped me figure out how we’re going to move forward with this challenge! Couple things going on in the background but I should have everything set up very soon and at the very least by the end of the day! This is going to be a really fun year in here!!!

@Emmie check the rules in the official #🥊make-more-comics-challenge thread for the full scoop but basically yes anything goes but we have judges in place who will do our best to make a fair evaluation of what weight each page holds. So for example ten 1 hour mini comics may only hold the weight of one or too fully rendered graphic novel pages. It’s going to be tricky but we’ll do our best. When it all comes down to it if the challenge helped you make more comics you win!!!

So this is a big announcement, and one we're making after a lot of debate and careful consideration: @everyone We're restricting the server to age 17 and up. My YouTube channel attracts a fair number of kids, and when you have 13 year olds regularly interacting with 40 year olds, especially in a voice chat, that can open a can of worms for either side. And that's not even considering that we've ended up with some members who are younger than that and don't meet Discord's Terms of Service age. At some point, you either start trying to regulate the content and conversation to a younger age group -- and some people wouldn't be able to post links to their comics or art anymore if we went purely PG-13 -- or you look at the community and try to make the best judgement you can. We don't want to start censoring content, and we don't have the manpower to police every link, post, and voice chat even if we did.

This is not meant to discourage our younger members from creating. We truly hope you keep drawing and writing. We hope that if the Discord is still around when you're 17 that we'll still be here if you want to join. We hope we'll see your name and your work in the future. And we're sorry to disappoint you by making you seek encouragement elsewhere. It may be hard to understand from a safety aspect because we do have a great group of members. But we wanted to act before any problems could crop up, not react to a problem in the future. If you're 16 or under and looking for encouragement on Discord, Shell recommends joining The Artists Guild Discord server. It has a larger group of moderators and carefully watches to make sure all the content is PG-13. Anything that isn't is quickly deleted. She's a junior mod over there, and the amount of work the mods put in to keeping that Discord squeaky clean weighed into our decision. The link to the PG-13, all-ages The Artist Guild Discord is https://discord.gg/MtKSUYn . We're giving you guys 5 days to get squared away before we remove anyone 16 and under. Please use that time to get squared away. You won't be able to "Friend" anyone if you're not on the same server, including people close to your own age. Please continue creating. Well, you don't have to wait for us, you can click on the server menu in the upper left and choose "server boost" if you'd like to contribute. We recently received a Cease and Desist letter from AAA insurance asking us to change our name- so after a lot of discussion we’ve decided to become the Triple Ape Comic Creators Discord. In celebration, the next anthology will also be ape-themed, and we will be providing a new selection of ape-emojis to everyone!

@everyone Hello Hello All! This is a bit of a big announcement but it shouldn't be too long. As of this weekend I will be transferring ownership of this Discord over to @shellpresto It's been about 2 years or so now since I have all but left the reigns of this discord over to Shell, @Empyrean Vole , and @Crimson Owl Comics and they have done an amazing job in my opinion. They have added some admins that have also been a huge help and many of you in the community have played a huge role in making this place great as well! This community has long since become something that is bigger than just a community for fans of the Marsh Makes Comics YouTube channel and i'm very proud and happy with what it has evolved into and how so many of you have made so much progress on your projects even to the point of some of you having published works and in many cases multiple published works! That's what this discord has always been about. A creative community that encourages each other and Actually Creates!!!! Seriously amazing!!! Shell and the Admins have been very good at making sure things run well and people are learning and progressing even from the beginning of the discord. I Trust that this will only continue as I step away from ownership and admin duties. I will still remain a member and still will be able to post prompts from time to time but I feel like its the proper time for me to continue forward with my Comic Work and my Channel and allow this community to continue to evolve in great ways! Thank You everyone for all of your support and for making this discord such a great place for creative growth. As far as this goes on the surface level, not much is going to feel different. This is sort of been a slow transition, and the biggest thing is that we hope you still pop in to hang out, @MarshallLee . And regardless of what your responsibilities are or aren't on the board, you will always be the founder, and for that we are thankful.

@everyone Triple-A Members, we have chosen to lock down the 9 Volt production channels on the server due to caution over pre-production review materials that are shared in these spaces when the books are being created. While 9 Volt is produced to allow creators to more easily accrue publication credits, we decided that we could do more to protect their materials while in the production phases so creators had more security for their works. Previous creators and new creators with status of Anthology contributors will have access these channels, and new participants will gain access when accepted to participate in the Anthology. If you are a previous creator and cannot access these channels, please contact an admin so your access can be restored.

@everyone I wanted to give everyone a heads up so that no one got confused, but I am going to shortly change the name of the server (in no small part in honor of our three year anniversary!!) to: Adventures in Comic Making The admin team had been discussing it for a long while, as AAA creators is kind of vague. We wanted something that said outright what we were about without having to explain it, and you have all made it quite clear that you're on a journey, and we're walking it together, and we are all trying to get better at this together. So watch out for the name change, and I hope you all dig it! (And yes, we got Marsh's blessing on this, too.)
